Mental Health

This is a topic in which I have a really big interest as I see it as strongly linked to low productivity and other issues like anti-social behaviour and pressure on the NHS plus it is a real barrier to people reaching their potential.

A lot of work has been done to provide services and I know this because the Cabinet at Surrey County Council made it a real focus of their strategy.

The problem is that the pressure on services keeps growing and we need to focus a lot of the work at early years to try to create positive thinking and well-balanced young people who are able to manage stress and pressure.

Like so many other issues, it is all about bringing services together and breaking down silos to ensure that those services all utilise the funding and resource they have to tackle mental health problems.
