Numbers shrinking in the Armed Forces, 2% and Nato, what should our defence look like? I worked in defence for a while and I am a huge advocate for strong defence, investing in technology and innovation and delivering on the Military Covenant. I am very pleased we are one of the countries that does meet the 2% NATO requirement and that recently we have invested more in stockpiling. I want us to get to the promised by this Government 2.5% defence spending as fast as we can. The world has become more dangerous and we need to be prepared for whatever threats arise including cyber attacks. I also want us to up the numbers in our Armed Forces again because not only is it important for defence and international conflict it is also important for the internal threats we face around emergency situations such as flooding.
